Excerpt from Hanging In There

Below is an excerpt from my youth sports novel, Hanging in There which is available on Amazon.

Ted got lost daydreaming about the summer nights at the high school stadium watching his brother play under the lights. By the time he looked at the clock he realized that there was only about a half-hour until dinner, after which he’d have to do his homework. It looked like he wasn’t going to get to do his daily regimen today either.

As he took off his tennis shoes, he felt even guiltier now for missing two days in a row. He was breaking a promise to Gary, which he didn’t like doing. It bothered him the rest of the night while he did his homework, and even as he got ready for bed.

The only thing that made him feel better was when he promised himself that tomorrow he’d get back on track and start practicing again just like he’d pledged to his big brother he would.
