It nagged him though to think of Chase winning the trophy. Of course, he wanted the team to win, but if the team won, and Chase won, that meant that the trophy was Chase’s. But if the team lost, and didn’t make the playoffs, at least Chase wouldn’t win the trophy. Eddie tried not to think like that. He had to root for the Coyotes. The problem was he just didn’t feel like a Coyote anymore. When something good happened to the team, he wasn’t a part of it. He didn’t get the slaps on the back and the pounds on the helmet anymore. He was just coaching first base.
