Excerpt from The Unbelievable Point Guard

Below is an excerpt from my youth sports novel, The Unbelievable Point Guard, which you can order here.

“When I got to school Den…,” Clifton paused. He wanted so much to tell Coach Watson what Denny Davis had done. But Coach had a thing about never speaking badly about teammates, no matter how much they mess up. This was part of the code of conduct on the court. Clifton was beginning to understand how that code applied off the court as well.

“When I got to school,” Clifton continued, “Some people wondered if I was really hurt or not and I kept forgetting which foot was supposed to be the bad one.” Clifton hesitated. He felt really stupid telling this part.

“Go on,” Coach Watson said.
